Homemade Frozen Yogurt (Was that all it took?)
I love frozen yogurt and I indulge myself every chance I get. When I saw this recipe by David Lebovitz on Marcus Samuelsson, I was stunned. Plain yogurt + Sugar + Ice Cream Maker = Frozen Yogurt. Try this and you will never want store bought froyo again.
Homemade Frozen Yogurt Recipe
*Modified from The Perfect Scoop by David Lebovitz
Makes about 1 quart (1 liter)
Ingredients:
4 cups plain organic lowfat yogurt
1 cup organic sugar
Application:
1. Mix together the yogurt and sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
2. Freeze in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
*I changed the yogurt to sugar ratio from 3:1 to 4:1 because I felt that the sugar was obscuring the tangy flavor of the yogurt.
