A different perspective of doughnuts (follow-up)

Earlier this month I blogged about my wonderful experience in meeting and taking a class with Lara Ferroni. A couple of days ago, I went back into my kitchen to take a second crack at making and photographing doughnuts. Here are the results:

Version 1 (using natural light)

Version 2 (using a strobe through a softbox)

I can tell you that the doughnuts tasted better and I was almost able to make them pretty enough to photograph. Which image do you like better? What type of doughnuts should I make next?
